Klaus + Orthogonal: Hundreds of APIs, Zero Configuration

One of the most common requests we get from Klaus users is: “How do I scrape this website?” or “Can Klaus find email addresses for these people?” or “I need to enrich this list of companies with funding data.”

The answer used to be: go sign up for an API, get your keys, figure out the authentication, and then write a skill to call it. Now the answer is: just ask Klaus.

What is Orthogonal?

Orthogonal is a marketplace of pre-built skills and APIs for AI agents. Instead of integrating dozens of services individually, you get access to hundreds of them through a single integration.

Some highlights:

  • Apollo — Sales intelligence and lead database
  • Exa — AI-native search engine
  • Olostep — Scrape websites and extract structured data from any page
  • Coresignal — Fresh public web data on companies and professionals

Plus dozens more for browser automation, data validation, email finding, and other tasks that would normally require separate accounts and billing relationships.

What Klaus users get

Every Klaus user gets Orthogonal pre-installed with $20 in complimentary credits. No signup, no API keys to manage, no billing to configure. Klaus already has access.

When you ask Klaus to do something that Orthogonal can help with — scraping a website, enriching a list of leads, finding someone’s email — Klaus will check Orthogonal first before trying to build something from scratch.

How it works

Klaus has the orth CLI installed and can discover available skills:

orth skills search "web scraping"
orth skills search "email finder"
orth skills search "company enrichment"

When Klaus finds a relevant skill, it can install and run it directly. You don’t need to touch any API dashboards or configure anything yourself.

We’ve also added guidance to Klaus’s bootstrap files so it knows to check Orthogonal before building custom solutions. If you ask “how do I scrape this website?”, Klaus will look for an existing Orthogonal skill rather than writing a Playwright script from scratch.

Why this matters

The gap between “I want an AI assistant” and “I have one that actually works” is usually filled with infrastructure busywork: signing up for services, managing API keys, configuring billing, writing integration code.

Orthogonal eliminates most of that. Klaus users can now perform sophisticated tasks — researching leads, enriching contact information, scraping web data, running research agents — without ever touching an API dashboard.
