This Privacy Policy describes how Klaus, a team AI assistant powered by Usebits Inc ("we", "our", or "us"), collects, uses, and protects your information. Klaus integrates with Slack and Google Workspace to provide AI assistance for your team.
Information We Collect
Slack Integration
When you connect Klaus to Slack, we collect:
- Messages sent to Klaus in the designated channel (e.g., #talk-to-klaus)
- User identifiers and display names for context
- Thread context necessary to provide coherent responses
- Workspace information (team ID, channel ID) for routing
We do not access or store messages from channels where Klaus is not explicitly invoked.
Google Workspace Integration
When you grant Klaus access to Google Workspace, we may access the following based on your permission selections:
- Gmail: Read, compose, and send emails on your behalf when instructed
- Calendar: View and manage calendar events
- Drive, Docs & Sheets: Access, read, and modify documents and files
- Contacts: View contact information (read-only)
You control which services Klaus can access through configurable permission scopes. Klaus only accesses data when performing tasks you explicitly request.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Process and respond to your requests and questions
- Execute tasks on your behalf within connected services
- Maintain conversation context for coherent interactions
- Improve Klaus's functionality and response quality
- Debug issues and ensure service reliability
Data Processing
Klaus processes your data through:
- Anthropic (Claude) – Your messages and relevant context are sent to Claude AI models to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
- OpenClaw – Klaus runs on isolated OpenClaw instances. Each organization's data is kept separate.
Data Retention
Conversation history with Klaus is retained to provide context for ongoing interactions. You can request deletion of your conversation history at any time.
When you disconnect Slack or Google Workspace, we revoke access tokens and stop collecting new data. Historical data may be retained for a limited period for debugging purposes before being deleted.
Your Controls
You have control over Klaus's access:
- Permission Scopes: Choose which Google Workspace services Klaus can access (none, read-only, or full access)
- Disconnect Services: Revoke Klaus's access to Slack or Google Workspace at any time
- Delete Data: Request deletion of your interaction history
Security
We implement security measures including:
- Isolated compute environments for each organization (via OpenClaw containers)
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS)
- Secure token storage for third-party integrations
- Regular security reviews
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through Slack or email.
